Dance Camp 2: Dance the Day Away
Mon., June 9 - Fri., June 13 • 10 am - 4 pm
Performance Showcase: Friday, June 13 at 4 pm
Tuition: $150.00

A week-long dance day camp for children ages 9 - 12. Students will participate in daily technique classes (ballet, modern, jazz), theory classes (make-up and costuming, program design, dance vocabulary, dance history and traditions), as well as learn and create choreography for a final showcase performance. Instruction provided by MCA dance faculty. The week concludes with a performance showcase, Friday, June 13, 4 pm, Valéncia Arts Center Academy Theatre. This showcase is free and open to the public. Tuition also includes a camp t-shirt.

Theatre Camp I: Welcome to Theatre

A week-long theatre day camp for young people entering grades 3 – 5. Students are led through a series of theatre games and exercises that are designed to encourage and develop their creative abilities. The camp will be led by Michael Charron, Dean of the School of the Arts at Saint Mary’s University. The week concludes with a performance showcase, Friday, June 27, 4 pm, Valéncia Arts Center Academy Theatre. This showcase is free and open to the public. Tuition also includes a camp t-shirt and admission to one Children’s Theatre Production presented by Gilmore Creek Summer Theatre at MCA’s Valéncia Arts Center.

A week-long theatre experience for youth entering grades 7 - 12. Students will spend the week with the Gilmore Creek Summer Theatre company members participating in sessions such as acting, musical theatre, stage combat, puppetry, behind-the-scenes, and make-up. A final showcase, free and open to the public, will allow students to demonstrate some of the skills learned throughout the week. Performance showcase Friday, August 1, 4 pm, Valéncia Arts Center Academy Theatre. Tuition also includes a camp t-shirt and admission to one Gilmore Creek Summer Theatre performance at Saint Mary’s University Page Theatre.
